West Yorkshire Regional U13 cricket on Sunday at 11am at LCC

The clubhouse bar will be open from 6pm Friday evening, and from noon on Saturday and Sunday.

All the focus this weekend is on our Saturday XI's as the first rounds of the Enco Halifax League Parish Cup and Shield mean it's a weekend off for our Enco Halifax Sunday League teams.
After last weekend's well timed run chase resulted in a 19 point win against Hopton Mills, the 1st XI head to the hometown of main club sponsors TOG24 to visit to bottom of the table Heckmondwike and Carlinghow CC in a noon start. It was hoped that there would be an enforced change to the 1st XI line up but the arrival of oversea's paceman Waqas has not materialised. The 1's are placed third in the table at this very early stage and remain unchanged for the noon start in the Gordon Rigg Bradford Premier League Division 2.

The 2nd XI host Cleckheaton following last week's low scoring win on a "sticky dog" of a wicket at Baildon's Jenny Lane. There are 2 changes to the side - Will Leach captains Bradford Grammar School 1st XI whilst Oliver Barrowcliffe, following his 2nd XI debut last weekend, has commenced his GCSE exams. Marcus Kelly returns following attending his first wedding of the summer and Monty R returns following his Duke of Edinburgh expedition weekend - Monty will resume the wicketkeeping duties enabling last week's deputy, Evan Edwards who top scored with 27, to be available to bowl should Rob Burton call upon him.
It's a noon start just off Till Carr Lane for :

Rob Burton (capt), Michael Brooke (vice capt), Evan Edwards, Rhys Jowett, Isaac M, Davis Knight, Monty R (wkt), Marcus Kelly, Redford Holdsworth, Conor Butterworth, Leo F

With no Enco Halifax Sunday League fixtures, LCC are proud to be able to offer their ground to non LCC fixtures for the 2nd time this week.
On Thursday we hosted the Yorkshire Schools Under 14 Cup tie between Crossley Heath School and Heckmondwike Grammar School. Lightcliffe lads Ayaan A and Monty R both played for CHS with Monty making 80 not out in CHS's 158 for 1. Heckmondwike were 107-8 when their 20 overs were up.
And on Sunday, 11am start, LCC host junior regional cricket as West Yorkshire Under 13s meet South Yorkshire at LCC, a fixture which is part of the Yorkshire County Cricket Club's pathway programme.
Lightcliffe will again be represented - Lucas A will be hoping to repeat his astonishing 142 from Bank Holiday Monday's massive win v North Yorkshire. In the same fixture, Lightcliffe's Alex G took the new ball to claim two wickets, both bowled. Unfortunately, for Alex and LCC fans, he is supporting/watching his Mum running a marathon this Sunday.

And finally, our Petanque members will be bouling away from 130pm on Sunday - all are welcome to come and try this sport for all ages - tuition and equipment provided.
And you'll be very welcome to join them for a cup of tea or something stronger in the clubhouse post-petanque!!
