The 1st XI at East Bierley won by 28 runs - all the more impressive for what could only be described as a challenging start to their innings, being 11-4 at one point, before crucial seventh & eighth wicket partnerships of 74 & 103 from club captain Alex Stead (82*) with Yusuf Malik (48) and Fin Hill (50) meant the Villagers posted 254 in their 50 overs.

In reply, the hosts started well but then the wickets started to fall and an outstanding 6-54 for Hasan Raza was key to bowling them out for 226.

Lightcliffe are now 7th in the Bradford Premier League Division 1 table with 180 points from 7 wins.

At home, a brilliant century from Regan Broadbent propelled the 2nd XI to a 131-run victory. Lightcliffe made 287 from their 50 overs.

In reply, East Bierley scored quickly but regular dismissals (4 for Sam Walker, 3 for Lucas Arnot & 2 for Redford Holdsworth) meant they couldn’t get close, they were all out for 151 in the 31st over.

Lightcliffe now sit 4th in the 2nd XI Premier division.
