Deluge disrupts every senior game

Deluge disrupts every senior game

Stephen Naylor20 Jul - 16:30

For the first time this season, every senior game has been disrupted by the weather.

After a remarkably dry season, with few weather interruptions, this weekend has made up for that with all four senior games disrupted by the weather.

Saturday saw the 1st XI game abandoned without a ball being bowled while the 2nd XI managed a whole three overs before proceedings were halted.

While Sunday saw both 3rd and 4th XI games begin but not conclude - the 3rds faced a first innings abandonment while the 4ths played the majority of a game before the rain hit in the second innings.

There were two junior games completed on Sunday morning - our U11s were beaten in the Bradford Junior Cricket League by top of the table Batley but our U9s made it through to the Halifax Junior Cricket League’s Collinson Cup Last 16 with victory over Upper Hopton.

Next up for the 1st XI is a winner takes all T20 clash with Northowram Fields at Till Carr Lane on Tuesday at 6.30pm - weather permitting.
