We’re incredibly proud of our Lightcliffe Roses who competed in their first ever match on Friday night (11th September).
The girls’ team have been in training throughout the season – most of them had never played cricket before, so for them to be taking part in a match and doing so well is a huge testament to the hard work of our coaches, their parents and everyone supporting them on their cricketing journey.
They didn’t win the friendly, but that didn’t matter – they had fun, they learnt new skills and they started a love of our sport we hope will last for a long time.
Huge thanks to our Roses coaching team who we literally could not do this without – led by Gary Lewsley, supported by Rhys Jowett, Christine Cooper and Hannah Harding.
All our girls have all been amazing and we can’t wait to see the next steps on their cricketing journey.
