It’s not often we get some of the world’s most famous sportsmen coming to where we live – but on Thursday, 3rd July, well-known names from the world of cricket will be in Lightcliffe, and we’d like to invite you to be there.
Lightcliffe Cricket Club is celebrating its 150th anniversary this year and, to mark the occasion, we’re hosting the Lashings World XI for a one-off, not-to-be missed T20 match at our Till Carr Lane home.
It will feature legends of the game like Sir Curtly Ambrose, Courtney Walsh and Ryan Sidebottom, plus the voice of cricket Henry Blofeld who will be commentating on the action as they face a Lightcliffe Select Team.
Whether you are a huge cricket fan or you don’t know your silly point from your googly, we guarantee it will be an afternoon to remember – not just brilliant sporting action but food, drink and plenty more fun for all the family.
Entry to the game is free for all juniors (aged 18 & under) and just £5, including a souvenir programme, per adult.
Gates open at 3.30pm, the T20 match starts at 4pm and is likely to last until 7pm to be followed by the Presentation.
We hope you will join us to celebrate 150 years of the Club, enjoy the cricket and the atmosphere, and meet some of the most legendary names the sport has ever seen.

Finally, this is a celebration of Lightcliffe’s 150 years and the event is being run by a dedicated and committed team of volunteers. Please show them respect and kindness even if queues get long.
And, also please LEAVE NO TRACE. There will be plenty of bins around the site so please use them and don’t assume it someone else’s job to clear up after you.
We can’t wait to see you and thank you for planning on being with us.
