Finntastic opportunity for talented teenage wicketkeeper/batsman.

Congratulations and the very best of luck to Finn from all at LCC on his selection for Derbyshire CCC 2nd XI.
Finn makes his debut today versus Derbyshire's local rivals Nottinghamshire at Notts Sports Club's Lady Bay Cricket Ground, located just a stones throw away from Trent Bridge in the West Bridgford district of Nottingham.

This is quite a step up from Finn's last fixture which was for Lightcliffe 2nd XI v Hanging Heaton 2nd XI in the Gordon Rigg Bradford 2nd XI Premier League. Finn took a catch off George Leach and made 13 runs as Hanging Heaton beat Lightcliffe to secure their top flight status and relegate our 2s!

Over the winter Finn, who still lives in Lightcliffe and was educated at Lightcliffe Primary and High Schools and has played all his club cricket for Lightcliffe, has opted to move to join former Lightcliffe CC youngster Tom Burton at East Bierley. We will watch Finn's progress this summer with interest!

Finn's rapid rise should serve as motivation as to what can be achieved by working hard at your game to the many other talented young Lightcliffe cricketers learning and loving the game at LCC. Finn has regularly featured in the West Yorkshire County/regional age group teams and has also made the full Yorkshire squads in recent seasons.

Rain (of course this spring!!) delayed the start today until 1215.
Notts won the toss and asked Derbyshire to bat with Finn listed at 9 in the published batting order. Derbyshire were 10 for 1 at lunch off 9 overs.
