The Bradford Premier Cricket League sets minimum qualifying standards to ensure the end of season tables recognise players who have made a sustained contribution across the season. For batting, players must have batted in at least 12 innings and scored 300 runs. For bowling, the qualification is 30 wickets, while wicketkeepers need at least 10 victims – catches and stumpings combined.

They have now published the 2026 hall of fame – and there’s a strong showing from our Villagers:

Yusuf tops Division One bowling

The outstanding headline from the 1st XI figures is Yusuf Malik, who finished top of the Division One bowling averages.

Yusuf took 35 wickets for just 488 runs at an average of 13.94, narrowly edging Hanging Heaton’s Upul Indrasiri, whose 60 wickets came at 13.98. Yusuf’s best return was 5-20, and he recorded two five-wicket hauls during the campaign – in the final two games of the season.

He also qualified with the bat, scoring 349 runs from 17 innings, including two half-centuries and a top score of 55.

Hasan Raza enjoyed an outstanding all-round season. With the bat he finished third in the Division One averages, scoring 762 runs from 17 innings at 58.62. His season included seven half-centuries and a century, with a highest score of 109 not out.

Hasan then backed that up by qualifying among the division’s leading bowlers, taking 39 wickets at 19.33, with best figures of 6-54 and two five-wicket hauls.

Jordan Laban was another Lightcliffe batter high up the rankings. His 679 runs from 19 innings came at an average of 45.27, including three fifties and a century, with a best of 111.

Niall Lockley also comfortably met the qualifying mark, averaging 33.42 after scoring 401 runs from 13 innings, with three half-centuries and a top score of 79.

Behind the stumps, Monty Ramsden was among Division One’s leading wicketkeepers. He completed 21 dismissals – 17 catches and four stumpings – more than double the ten-victim qualification mark.

2nd XI make their mark in the Premier Division

There was an equally strong Lightcliffe presence in the 2nd XI Premier Division figures, led by a superb season for Isaac Morley.

Isaac finished among the division’s leading batters with 824 runs from 18 innings at an average of 51.50. He passed 50 four times and converted another three innings into centuries, with a highest score of 116.

Alongside him, Rhys Jowett also passed 800 runs. Rhys accumulated 806 at 44.78, recording six half-centuries and one century, with a highest score of exactly 100.

Three more Lightcliffe players reached the batting qualification. Captain Rob Burton scored 303 runs at 33.67, including three half-centuries and a best of 83 not out; Will Leach made 392 at 26.13, with a best of 64 not out; and Michael Brooke scored 409 at 24.06, including a century and a half-century.

The bowling figures provide another major highlight.

Sam Walker finished third in the Premier Division bowling averages, claiming exactly 50 wickets at just 15.80 apiece. His best figures were 5-21, and he recorded four five-wicket hauls.

Lucas Arnot was also among the division’s leading bowlers, taking 47 wickets at 18.19, with best figures of 5-24 and two five-wicket hauls. Between them, Sam and Lucas therefore accounted for an incredible 97 wickets.

Completing Lightcliffe’s qualifiers was wicketkeeper Mark Horne, who recorded 17 victims, comprising 14 catches and three stumpings.

A season of individual achievement

The qualifying averages underline the strength in depth across Lightcliffe’s top two senior sides this year.

With 13 Villagers meeting the demanding qualification standards across batting, bowling and wicketkeeping, the final league averages provide another measure of an excellent 2026 season at Till Carr Lane.
