Congratulations to the Halifax Junior League U10 Representative team who have won the U10s Yorkshire Junior Cricket Festival title after beating neighbours Huddersfield by 34 runs.

Two Lightcliffe lads starred with bat and ball in the decider on Sunday (16 August).

Jonty was Player of the Match for his brilliant unbeaten 61 from 67 balls which anchored the Halifax innings.

Ollie made 33 from 34 to pile on the runs and set 142 as the target from the 25 overs for Huddersfield to chase.

He was also key to ensuring they couldn’t get there as he took 3 wickets for 24 runs in his four overs with Huddersfield ending their innings on 108/9.
