Ian Tomlinson is the new Secretary for Lightcliffe Cricket Club.

His appointment was confirmed by a unanimous vote at the Annual General Meeting last week.

The role of Secretary is little understood outside the circle of those on the Commitee who run the club, but it is pivotal for the club to be able to function and enter teams into League cricket.

It includes coordinating all communications with national and regional senior cricket leagues, ensuring all player registrations are valid and up to date, coordinating and running all Committee matters as well as monitoring all LCC activity with the outside world.

Ian is relatively new to the club and an unfamiliar face to many, but has already started making positive contributions behind the scenes.

He will be supported in a handover by outgoing Secretary James Horne, who has done an excellent job over the last 3 years. James continues on the Commitee, informally as Deputy Chair and (until he manages to shake of the duties) running the Sub Commitee who plan and run our most important event of the year - The Lightcliffe Village Gala.

We wish Ian well in the role.
