Pavilion23 Crowd-Funder ends on a high

Kevin Booth9 Dec 2022 - 21:47

The first major initiative to support the funding for the new Pavilion has exceeded all targets.

The Crowd Funder project was overseen by Richard Leach.

Chairman Bob Horne has expressed thanks to all who supported this venture and commented:-
".. can I thank Richard for his initiative in setting up the project and his energy and expertise in seeing it through to its successful conclusion".

Richard himself has circulated a message to all club members as below:-

As the main organiser of the LCC Pavilion 2023 CrowdFunder project, I’d like to sincerely thank all club members, members’ friends and family, local community residents, local businesses and cricketers past and present for your incredible generosity in supporting our campaign. We have raised 30% more than our original target, we’ve secured the full Sport England grant and a significant gift-aid rebate from the HMRC in so doing. Brilliant.

Our message has spread far and wide, and we’ve had two donations from Australia and one from Lanzarote. But in truth this campaign’s success has been rooted in the local Lightcliffe community. Up the villagers!

The Crowd-Funder, is a major step on the way to completing the pavilion.

The next phase of the funding drive will be a 24 Hour Crick-athon.
This will be held over the days of 27th and 28th December

Overseen by 1stXI opening batter Zani Stead, the 24 hour event wil look to engage LCC players young and old, to participate in the event, whilst sourcing sponsorship for it.

More details will follow very shortly.
