It was another great weekend for Lightcliffe's four senior sides in matches which featured the strength in depth across the club - from experienced stalwarts to up and coming juniors.
Saturday
At Northowram, Alex Stead’s 1sts chased down the 196 target easily after bowling out the home side in 46 overs with Andy Walker taking four. In reply, Niall Lockley’s 60 and Rajat Dey’s unbeaten 80 were key in getting over the line, reaching 201/3 with a 6 from Dey winning the game in the 25th over. Match Report >>
At Till Carr Lane, the 2nds - led today by Michael Brooke - were 250/5 after their 50 overs with David Knight getting 80 from 37. In reply, the visitors were all out for 141 in 43 overs with Leo Flanagan taking 5 for 29. Scorecard >>
Sunday
The 3rds beat Shelf Northowram Hedge Top away from home in the Rod Warhurst Cup reaching the 222 target set for them in 35 overs but with just two wickets remaining. Will Sweeten top scored on 35 in a Lightcliffe innings when 5 players - Lunn, Heath, Horne & Terry - made over 25. Match Report >>
The 4ths were home to Barkisland and managed to bowl them out for 110 winning by 12 runs in a match featuring some of our up and coming U13s. Congratulations to George Deighton & Harry Betts making their senior debuts and to Ted Stead for taking an impressive 3 wickets for 14 runs. A brilliant knock too from captain Mark Jagger with 68.
