Lightcliffe's 3rd XI got their title defence underway successfully last Sunday with a win at Triangle CC. However, readers of this website will be very aware that this match will be mainly remembered for the controversial mankading without warning of Lightcliffe's 13 year old opening batsman Isaac Morley by the experienced Triangle captain.
This week Lightcliffe head further west to visit Stones CC where they will play against Barkisland, whose home ground is unavailable due to a Huddersfield League 1st XI Sykes Cup tie.
3rd Team v Barkisland to be played at Stones CC. Meet at 12.15 for a 1pm start.

Last weekend the 4th XI went top of the Halifax Sunday League Division 3 without bowling a ball or playing a shot as Buttershaw St Pauls were unable to raise a side.
The 4th XI are, as usual, a mainly youthful side with a little experience added in.
Skipper James Brearley will lead a side containing three members of the highly promising Under 13 squad on debut - fast bowler Oliver Frearson, left arm seamer Zach Challis and wicketkeeper Owen Horne. Owen will be watched at close quarters by his father Mark, the former LCC 1st XI keeper, whilst brother Ben, a batsman, makes it a real family affair as he replaces another Under 13 player, the injured Luke Barrowcliffe, who will he out for 6 weeks with a broken finger.
4th Team at home v Golcar. Meet at 12.15 for a 1pm start.
