Entering the Vitality Club T20 competition has provided wonderful cricket experiences for our Young Villagers for the last decade or so.
The boys have played at former county out grounds such as Harrogate and Sheffield Collegiate and travelled as far as Scarborough and Richmondshire to compete in this prestigious competition. This year’s draw exemplifies why LCC enter the competition pitting us against top junior teams from other top leagues across Yorkshire.
Both LCC sides have got a bye in the 1st round.
Waiting for the U15s in the 2nd round is the winner of the round 1 tie between the Aire-Wharfe League’s Bilton CC and Harrogate CC from the Yorkshire Premier League North.
*UPDATE - Bilton beat Harrogate by 6 wkts with 6.4 overs to spare*
NB round 2 fixtures must be completed by Monday 2nd June.
Should we be successful at the 2nd round stage, we will again be at home to the Huddersfield Premier League’s Shepley CC or Emley Clarence CC in the Yorkshire 1/4 finals which must be completed by Wednesday 11th June.
The U13s were due to host New Rover CC of the Aire/Wharfe League before Friday 6th June but a suitable date was becoming hard to secure at LCC due to the sheer volume of junior fixtures.
Fortunately, New Rover (LS16 8UF) have agreed to host us next Monday, 19th May, with a 6.15 pm start.
The winners will be on the road in the 1/4 final to either Doncaster CC from the Yorkshire Premier League South or the Yorkshire Premier League North’s Thorp Arch & Boston Spa CC or Scarcroft CC.
Good luck to both our junior teams as the “Road to Lords” in this year's Vitality Club T20 competitions begins on Monday!!
