King Cross won the toss and chose to bat first, posting 113 for 8 from their 20 overs. Zakariya Mukhtar led the way for the visitors with a retired not out 30 from 23 balls, while Faizaan Muhammad added 18 and Huzaima Yasar finished unbeaten on 11.

Lightcliffe shared the wickets around well. Ollie W had an outstanding 2 overs - 1 maiden and 1 wicket for just 1 run, while George was also excellent, taking 1 for 2 from his 2 overs. Noah, Brodie, Yusuf and Daniel also claimed a wicket apiece, with two run-outs adding to a strong fielding effort.

In reply, Lightcliffe’s chase got off to a difficult start as early wickets left them under pressure at 7 for 3 and then 28 for 5. However, Brodie who'd needed treatment for a ball to the foot, returned and gave the innings some momentum with a positive 23 from 25 balls, including two boundaries.

George's batting performance showed patience and determination with an unbeaten 24 from 54 balls. He was well supported late on by Noah, who finished 9 not out from 11 balls, as Lightcliffe batted out their full 20 overs and reached 78 for 6.

Although Lightcliffe were unable to overhaul the target, there were plenty of positives, particularly some disciplined bowling, a good all-round contribution in the field and some steady batting which left the visitors just 35 short by the end of the match at a Greetland ground bathed in moonlight with batters peering at balls disappearing in the darkness.
