Lightcliffe claimed a five-wicket victory over Brighouse in their Rigg Bash T20 Group B Pool 3 fixture, thanks to a match-winning innings from Niall Lockley and strong bowling performances from Leo Flanagan and Rajat Dey.
Batting first, Brighouse posted 138 after being bowled out with a ball to spare. The openers got off to a quick start, with Adib Hussain striking 16 off 10, but the innings faltered as wickets fell regularly. The main contributions came from Anwar Shah (34 off 39) and Abid Ali (38 off 23), who helped rebuild the innings with aggressive strokeplay.
Lightcliffe’s bowling unit kept things tight. Leo Flanagan was the standout, finishing with 4–21, while Rajat Dey offered excellent support with 3–25 from his four overs.
In reply, Lightcliffe lost two early wickets but were steadied by captain Lockley, who delivered a commanding unbeaten 75 from 50 balls. His knock, laced with seven fours and four sixes, shifted the momentum firmly in Lightcliffe’s favour. He was supported by contributions from Monty Ramsden (13), Ben Speak (11*), and Jordan Pickles (10*), who saw the team home with 18 balls to spare finishing on 139/5.
