Both sides had under age players on show who performed well, but it was Lightcliffe (who continue to field more than their fair share) that again ended up second.
John Eliot’s brilliant one handed return catch from his own bowling gave the home side early optimism, but Farsley hit out strongly in response.
It was to the credit of Matthew Denman, (not a regular with the ball for the under 15’s) when asked to shoulder the burden of opening the bowling, that he got through his 4 over stint whilst still beating the bat on more than one occasion.
Iwan Heath is another – much slower – bowler who falls into this category of unlucky, as again his eclectic mix of missiles proved challenging for the batters.
Alex Kennedy again gave of his best, without the luck a leg spinner needs, but perhaps softened up the Farsley middle order sufficiently, to allow Jude Roberts to step up, produce some lovely flight and take 2 wickets for the team in his first opportunity with the ball at this level.
Once the 17’s ‘keeper Josh Stringer, captain Eliot and Denman had departed without score there was no real prospect of beating the Farsley total. Kennedy however showed concentration an application to retire 32 not out for the second occasion this season.
Whilst Ben Whiteley and Robbie Heath did produce a couple of shots in anger, the evening belonged to visitor’s opening bowler young Bethany Slater, who produced match winning stats of 4-11.
