King Cross set a competitive total at Till Carr Lane, building through their innings and finishing strongly at 134/6, giving Lightcliffe a challenging chase.
With the ball, Lightcliffe shared the wickets around in a disciplined team performance. Abbas returned 2 wickets for 14 runs from 2 overs, while Ted (1-13), Charlie C (1-6), Charlie M (1-10) and George D (1-16) all chipped in with a wicket apiece. There were also economical spells from Theo (0-5) and Harrison (0-10), helping to keep King Cross from running away with the game.
In response, Lightcliffe made a steady start. Jacob led the way with a composed 35 (30), striking five boundaries, while Alex added a fluent 24 (22). Support came from Charlie M (21) and Will (18 off 31), but the innings just lacked the acceleration needed to chase down the target as the pitch's bounce reduced into the late evening.
Despite wickets in hand at the close, Lightcliffe finished on 108/2 - 26 runs short of the required total.
