On a greenish, undulating wicket, Baildon won the toss and asked LCC to bat.
Stand-in umpire Gary Lewsley took to the field without the need for the Baildon shooting stick, as did his Baildon colleague.
The vocal Baildon fielders sought to wear down the opening pair of Brooke and Morley but undeterred they saw off the new ball bowlers to reach twenty-odd after 10.
As the shine diminished the runs flowed and at the 25 over drinks interval the scoreboard showed 87-0; Baildon despite their huff and puff had failed to blow the LCC openers door down.
Morley reached his fifty, then soon afterwards was bowled off a slow full toss for 62. Promoted to No 3 Edwards busily accumulated before Brooke fell for a faultless 44 as he looked to push the pace.
Arnott joined the fray and the LCC batters continued to work hard for their runs, Arnott falling for 10 before Leach was LBW in unlucky fashion. Knight couldn't find his fluency and drilled one to cow corner for an unaccustomed 15 from 20 balls.
It was left to skipper Burton and second team debutant Gillgrass to work the fielders and take LCC to a respectable 205, with Gillgrass finishing unbeaten on 12 with some nice touches.
Turning round after tea LCC set about reciprocating the Baildon chatter to create an engaging arena at Jenny Lane.
Accompanying skipper Rob with the new ball was 15 year old Luke Barrowcliffe, and with his second ball sent down an unplayable ball cleaning up all 3 of the openers wickets.
Burton, bowling with metronomic consistency, got the first of his 4 wickets when the other opener was caught at point with the score on 25.
A solid third wicket stand took the score to 67 before Barrowcliffe took an excellent catch at long-on off the bowling of Kelly.
The excellent glove work by Horne M kept the score up in check as the Baildon batters came and went.
A wearing looking skipper took his jumper from the Baildon umpire having bowled unchanged from the rugby ground end finishing with 33/4 off his 15 overs, a huge shift much appreciated by his teammates.
Replacing Burton young Arnott took the 9th wicket to fall before the impressive Kelly bowled the last man to finish with another 4 wicket haul and Baildon all out for 112.
LCC take another huge step in their impressive season banking 19 points for the 93 run victory. Up next week are Hanging Heaton, onwards and upwards....
